Four River one World and Nagarjuna Academy

Nagarjuna Academy  has been actively involving with iEARN  for the last two years as over 20,000 schools in more than 115 countries. We got golden opportunity to involve into  Four River One World”, which was a mammoth project of iEARN for  the year 2008.Bagamati River of Nepal was also included among the four rivers. We visited all the length of River from its source at Shivapuri reserved forest and to the exit point of the valley.

Patch up Global Impact on Local Level

Bagmati River is deteriorated excessively as it travels down the urban area due to misuse of river in haphazardious and unaware human activities. Bagamati origins in Nepal and travel all the 1500 KM length leaving impacts all over her way finally merges into Indian Ocean. Students came to know that they can patch up the global impact in local levels. As a universal truth, there is no any political boundary for Natural phenomenon.

Global Citizens

My students got chance to examine their own value and attitude, to appreciate the similarities between people of everywhere and to understand the global important of their localities. It gave acknowledgement to understand their mutual interdependency, skills and understanding capacity to play an active role in the global community. Hence; they work together to save one and only home planate EARTH as a global citizen.  It was an encouraging factor for us that our students’ photo was published in front page of iEARN website.

Change Youngster to change the World

My students have developed creative and critical thinking skills through this project and got firsthand experiences working worldwide using technology in the classroom. I also learned from iEARN that students are the most effective and efficient tool to aware entire community via their family and themselves.
