Our inspirer

“Nagarjuna Academy” is inspired by a historic figure NAGARJUNA who had flourished in southern India, as a Brahmin in the late second century. Nagarjuna was a great disciple, dialectician and brilliant philosopher of Buddhism. The middle path school traces its origin to Nagarjuna. A great deal has been written and said about Nagarjuna by the author of many famous texts of Buddhist philosophy in recent years. It is also believed that Buddha’s lesson was not popular even after the 200 years of his death. It remained within monasteries. But, during the region of King Asoka, (272-236 BE); Nagarjuna interpreted the lessons of the Buddha and put forward as topics of debate. It is certain that he was an actual historical person remarkable for his brilliant and energizing philosophical spirit. He also visited Nepal and stayed on the northern hill of Kathmandu for meditation, since then the hill is known by Nagarjune hill.
