THE BAGMATI RIVER THE LET ME LIVE MY ORIGINALITY LET ME BE MYSELF Though I have no eyes, I drop my tears. Though I have no mouth, I cry for my life. Though I have no hands, I pray for my existence. I was once a holy river, My life was full of happiness and joy. I had lots of devotees and friends, Who came to me everyday. They used to worship me and love me And used to respect me for what I was. But now, the condition is just the opposite, You have changed me into a sacrilegious river. You have filled my life with tears and sorrows. And now, I am your devotee, your slave. I worship you for my freedom, I plead you to give back my previous life. I request you to stop your uncouth behavior upon me, You are responsible for what I am today. I have no friends at all, You have made me your foe. Nobody dares to come in front of me, Without a mask or a handkerchief. So I urge you give back my former vigor, Let me enjoy my originality. Let all my cronies come back to me And let me be what I always wanted to be. Written by: AKSHYATA UPRETY Class Ten |
